Emergency Repair of Pipeline Network Destroyed by "Typhoon Lekima"

On August 10, 2019, due to the influence of Typhoon Lekima, the amount of precipitation in the urban area of Xinzheng and the towns and townships under its jurisdiction reached over 50mm, accompanied by severe convection weather such as short-time heavy rainfall and thunderstorm wind.

During the typhoon, employees on duty at the No. 1 Sewage Treatment Plant (hereinafter referred to as the "Plant") of Zhengzhou Xinzhongzhou Water Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") found that the inflow water level fell suddenly. After on-site inspection, they found the problem was caused by the collapse of sewage pipeline network due to heavy rainfall. Therefore, they instantly started emergency plan and reported this situation to leaders of the Plant and the Company. After receiving the report, Li Qiwen, General Manager of the Company and Li Guanghui, Deputy Director of the Plant immediately organized a team to inspect the situation of sewage inflow pipeline network outside the Plant. Meanwhile, the Company reported this situation to relevant government departments such as Xinzheng Municipal Urban Administrative Bureau and Xinzheng Municipal Bureau of Environmental Protection, and assisted relevant departments to the repair work of collapsed sewage pipeline network. All employees responded to the problem quickly and took action rapidly to give support to the higher authorities. On the one hand, employees of the Company spared no effort to repair the sewage pipeline network day and night; on the other hand, the Company brought two more pumps to draw water, so as to ensure the volume of inflow and the standard treatment of sewage in the Plant.

Although the flood is merciless, human beings are compassionate. Challenged by the sudden flood, leaders of the Company led all employees to take a lead role and work in the front line. They demonstrated their responsibility for the people with their actions.
