May 12, 2020 is the 12th annual National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day. On this day, Zhengzhou Xinzhongzhou Water Co., Ltd. under Xinzheng District, Xinzheng Xinkang Water Co., Ltd., Xinzheng Kangda Water Co., Ltd. and its four wastewater treatment plants, all together organized the drowning-prevention emergency drill. The aim of this emergency drill was to further enhance the staff's safety education and raise their awareness of disaster prevention and reduction as well as self-saving. To achieve this aim, with the help of Director Qin Junfeng from Xinyan Community Safety Office of Xinzheng District, we were very honored to have the Xinzheng Blue Sky Rescue to give our staff a lecture on anti-drowning, after which we held a rehearsal according to our drowning-prevention emergency drill plan.
Mr. Qin from Xinzheng Blue Sky Rescue emphasized "Safety is no laughing matter, life is more precious than diamond". He hoped that everyone could treat safety as the top priority in working and daily life, take it seriously and prevent danger from the very beginning. Then, he explained how to prevent drowning and showed us the main points of correctly wearing the life jackets and drowning treatment. After the indoor lecture, we lined up and went to the secondary clarifier in the plant, which served as the site for rehearsing the drowning-prevention emergency drill. Members of the Blue Sky Rescue explained and performed the procedure of drowning treatment, including taking the person out of water, calling the police, performing first aid and clearing the site.
We must prepare for the potential accidents so as to prevent and reduce them. The lecture on drowning prevention and the emergency rehearsal helped to further increase the staff's awareness of disaster prevention and reduction, publicize the knowledge of disaster prevention and reduction as well as self-saving, and enhance the comprehensive capacity to reduce disaster, so that we can reduce the loss caused by disasters and accidents as possible as we can.
