Two pine trees were planted when Kangda Environmental Protection (Shangqiu) Water Co., Ltd. was established. Now, they are nearly 20 years old. As the trees are getting old and undernourished, there are some symptoms, such as yellow leaves, fallen leaves, deadwood and broken branches.
To deal with the health problem of the two old pine trees which have witnessed the 20-year ups and downs of Shangqiu Plant, Factory Manager Pan Hongxia timely invited botanists from Shangqiu Normal University to diagnose and treat the trees. With the experts' instructions, the greening team at the General Department took immediate rescue actions, including pinching and removing dead and weak branches, so as to ensure nutrition supply for the trunk. Meanwhile, the plant nutrient solution containing multi-trace elements were bought to give the trees "an injection or transfusion".
