The training held today was aimed to practice the commitment of "contributing to society with water-oriented principles", strengthening the operations management of sewage treatment plants and improve the business quality of operations management personnel, thereby further achieving the working policy of "consolidating foundation, raising sources and reducing expenses" and the strategic target set at the beginning of this year.

Next, CEO Duan Linnan gave a keynote speech, which covered content regarding conducting fine operations management, practising more safety drills and checks, strengthening safety production and up-to-standard discharge, improving the channel for the promotion of operations management personnel and information feedback channels and enhancing the coordination and communication among operations management personnel. He also emphasized the importance of core corporate value identity and corporate culture construction, and advocated that we should employ people identifying with the corporate culture, use people based on their ability, cultivate people in a systematical manner and retain people who integrate their career expectations with the company's vision. This training featured a tight schedule and rich and practical content, although it just lasted for two days.

Promoting cultural identity and management improvement

As the saying goes, success comes to those who share in one purpose. If a company expects to realize steady and healthy development, its leaders and employees must share a common vision and identify with its corporate culture. Kang Duyan from China Water Affairs Group Limited delivered a lecture named From Cultural Identity to Management Improvement at the meeting. The lecture covers five aspects, say, the overview of corporate culture, the core concept of corporate culture of China Water Affairs Group Limited, the path to cultural identity, how to realize management improvement and all staff participation and how to promote this work from the management. She said that corporate culture is the soul of enterprises and the inexhaustible impetus driving the development of enterprises. Ms. Kang's cases were easy to understand and humorous and stimulated interactions between participants, making them deeply realize the significance of cultural identity and management improvement to an enterprise's development. Her unique viewpoint won the warm applause of participants. China Water Affairs Group Limited is the creator of water value, and "contributing to society with water-oriented principles" is our shared core corporate value. We must internalize this value as well as externalize it.

Reasonable cost control is the key to maintaining the healthy operations of sewage treatment plants and significant development of enterprises
Tang Wenbin, a process engineer at the Operation Department of the Group, shared a special report named Sewage Treatment Plant Cost Control and Energy Conservation, by revolving around the theme of strengthening production cost control and reasonably reducing consumption. In the report, Mr. Tang analyzed in detail the operation and environmental problems facing sewage treatment enterprises and the status of production cost control of enterprises subordinate to the Group over the past few years. In addition, he put forward measures for cost control and energy conservation. Offering detailed data, graphs and examples in the report, Mr. Tang analyzed problems objectively and thoroughly and also gave solutions. His wonderful interpretation benefited participants a lot and won the critical acclaim of present leaders of sewage treatment plants.

Emphasizing the preparation of an emergency response plan to nip safety accidents in the bud

Strengthening safety production and enhancing the safety consciousness of management personnel of operating companies is among the themes of this training. At this training, Zhang Xiaojiang, an equipment engineer of the Operation Department of the Group, shared a special report named Safety Production and Emergency Disposal. The report covers the purpose of safety training, basic safety production knowledge, related national safety regulations, accident case analysis, the establishment of safety emergency systems and safety training and drills of operating companies. Via sharing this report, he trained participants in terms of safety business knowledge and operating skills. Mr. Zhang underlined the importance of safety management knowledge and concept and related laws and regulations to sewage treatment enterprises, and also analyzed related cases of project companies. What he shared with participants helped enhance all participants' consciousness of accident prevention and their capacity of coping with such accidents. Besides, he required that sewage treatment plants must find out the cause of safety accidents, hold related personnel accountable for the accidents, conduct safety education for the responsible person and others involved, and put related corrective measures into place.

Mr. Zhang's lecture once again warned that we should attach importance to safety production at all times and prepare the emergency response plan to nip safety accidents in the bud.
Consolidating foundation and promoting fine management
In order to implement the working policy of "consolidating foundation, raising sources and reducing expenses" and facilitate mutual learning and common progress among operating companies, the Group arranged Tang Songyu, Deputy General Manager of Wenzhou Chuangyuan Water Co., Ltd., to share the Related Fine Management Experience of Wenzhou Chuangyuan Water Co., Ltd. at the training. Mr. Tang gave an enlightening report. He shared not only profound theories but also some cases with participants. He also analyzed problems concretely and put forward practical solutions. In the report, he indicated that fine management is a kind of management concept and technology. It refers to managing all units accurately, efficiently, synergistically and continuously, according to systematic and standard procedures and regulations and based on data and information. It emphasizes the detail, foundation, process, implementation and effect and strives for perfection in every detail. It requires utilizing strict systems to regulate employees' behaviors, strengthening the fulfillment of responsibilities and forming excellent corporate culture. It aims to improve the executive ability and working efficiency of management personnel and their employees, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and safety consciousness of enterprises. Then Mr. Tang exchanged ideas about operations management, innovative services and corporate culture with participants, and his viewpoints resonated with these participants. As members of enterprises controlled by China Water Affairs Group Limited, participants realized the gap between them and Mr. Tang and the aspects they need to improve themselves in the future. As the ancient Chinese philosopher Laozi said, all difficulties under heaven arise from what is easy, and all great things under heaven arise from what is minute. For enterprises in the water industry, if they expect to remain invincible in the fierce competition and lead the industry, they must regard fine management as a concept and pay great attention to fine management. What's more, they and their managers and employees must keep fine management in mind.

Learning insurance claim clauses and reducing accident risks

The Group has bought business property insurance for all of its operating companies, which covers various products such as Property All Risks and public liability insurance, in order to build a firewall protecting the companies from suffering heavy property loss caused by natural disasters and other unexpected accidents. To help all operating companies learn about the coverage of insurance claims and minimize property loss when it comes to unexpected disasters, the Group invited professional people from the related insurance company to deliver a lecture named the Insurance Claim Process and Matters That Need Attention. In this lecture, Mr. Li introduced in detail the coverage of the insurance products the operating companies had bought and related insurance clauses, insurance claim processes and other matters that need attention. He also put forward practical risk control and prevention schemes and measures geared to sewage treatment plants, and answered questions raised by participants. This lecture strengthened all operations management personnel's understanding and attention of insurance claim clauses. Besides, it enhanced the participants' risk management and control awareness, and improved enterprises' self-protection capacity and their risk management level.

Proactively participating in group discussion and submitting suggestions and solutions in written forms

After all the speeches and lectures, participants actively carried out discussions over problems in their operating companies' daily operations management. They analyzed these problems carefully and also gave their suggestions and solutions in written forms. The training finally ended in a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere.

After the training, President Li Zhong gave a keynote speech via video. President Li first analyzed the current development status of the environmental protection industry. He indicated that in recent years, the industry faced unprecedented challenges. Impacted by internal and external factors, enterprises in the industry would encounter many uncertainties and challenges in the course of development. In this case, we, be leaders or employees, must pool our efforts together and enhance our capacity to deal with the changes in the external environment and participate in the unprecedented fierce market competition. Afterwards, President Li published the semiannual report of the Group. He extended thanks to all staff for their concerted effort. He also motivated all staff to carry forward the spirit of constantly striving for progress to be the finest, learn from the advanced colleagues and enterprises, benchmark themselves against other leading enterprises in the industry, and strengthen the standard and fine management. He emphasized that we should further control cost and save energy on the precondition of ensuring safety production and up-to-standard discharge, and at the same time, implement the working policy of "consolidating foundation, raising sources and reducing expenses". He hoped that all the participants would give full play to their advantages, and actively expand businesses related to the water industry chain in local regions while ensuring safety production and up-to-standard discharge. He hoped that all operating companies would develop their corporate culture, improve their plant image, deeply understand insurance claim clauses, strengthen the bottom-line thinking, and build a "firewall" against potential risks to minimize the risks. He expected them to strive for Kangda EP's rapid development and successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Group.

The two-day training features clear themes, rich content and a tight schedule as well as a specific aim. The Operation Department prepared exquisite PPTs, accurate data and wonderful content for this training. After listening to the speeches and lectures themed on corporate culture, cost control, safety production and fine management and learning from and exchanging with each other, deputy general managers enhanced their identity with their corporate culture and core corporate value, improve their comprehensive quality and become more willing to share business knowledge and experience. This training not only further consolidates the foundation of enterprises' operations management but also makes sewage treatment plants clearly understand their future development objectives and directions. Although such training takes some time, they are not enough to delay enterprises' whole business processes. Therefore, we need to carry out such training on a regular basis. We believe under the guidance of the management of the Group, we will surely usher in a brighter future in the environmental protection industry.
