In order to enhance the development of high-skill personnel, impel staff to delve into technical skills and step on the road to success, "Make Achievements in the New Era as a Good Master" Labor&Skill Contest was held by Taiyuan Kangjin Water Co., Ltd. on October 13 and 14, 2020. 

      Focusing on the characteristics of the drainage industry, the contest was held for all the staff as a self-education and self-promotion activity, encouraging them to practice on a competitive basis, making bold innovations based on their positions, actively improving their vocational skills, strengthening their learning awareness, carrying forward the spirit of craftsmanship, reinforcing the culture of craftsmanship, and striving to develop themselves into high-skilled talent. 

      By setting two types of jobs for the competition, namely, the operator on urban sewage treatment and the laboratory technician on urban sewage treatment, the contest was composed of a theory exam and skill practical operation exam in the mode of individual competition, reflecting the comprehensive requirements for the contest, encouraging all the staff to participate in the contest and setting off an upsurge on job skill learning and competition in the whole company. 

      At 9:00 am on October 13, the contest got started in the host speech delivered by Chen Caiping, general manager of Taiyuan Kangjin Water Co., Ltd. Zhang Chen, deputy secretary of Taiyuan Drainage Management Office, and Zhang Jianchen, deputy director of Taiyuan Drainage Management Office, attended the opening ceremony. Zhang Chen and Xiao Ding, president of Taiyuan Kangjin Water Co., Ltd., respectively delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the contest.

      After a short opening ceremony, the contest officially started and over 50 contestants had the theory exam in the conference room on the fourth floor. Afterwards, the contestants confirmed the questions of skills practical operation and exam rooms through a draw to have the exam accordingly.

      , the contest smoothly came to an end after a two-day intense competition. On the afternoon of October 14, the closing ceremony of the contest was held. Through the theory exam and skill practical operation exam, the first, second, and third prizes were decided among all the contestants. Wang Xiaoru, deputy director of the Taiyuan Drainage Management Office, attended and addressed the closing ceremony of the contest. The present leaders presented award certificates and trophies to the winners in turn. 

      General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that technical workers serve as an important foundation supporting made-in-China and created-in-China, and play a key role in high-quality economic growth. In the whole society, we should carry forward craftsmanship with the pursuit of excellence, and encourage the young people to develop their skills to serve the country. He also frequently inspires the youth to pursue their dreams with all the efforts. "With full of dreams, the youth is the most vigorous", "Good young people are ambitious to make achievements everywhere and the people with aspiration never stop striving for great future with regret." General Secretary Xi's inculcation is like a guide for growth that leads the youth to a better life in the new era. Other than a competition, the contest is even a grand gathering for learning and exchange. It’s the way and direction for every Kangjin employee to make up the deficiencies, improve learning enthusiasm and job responsibility. 

      The young staff are the main force of Kangjin in daily operation and the future of Kangjin belongs to the youth. We should arm our minds with the spirit of General Secretary Xi's speeches, steadily improve our job skills, firmly remember what we benefited from the experience and teachings of leaders and predecessors, set up a high ambition, work step by step, keep a firm faith, acquire excellent skills and shoulder the important tasks of the Times. Through the contest, the young Kangjin staff’s capability and enthusiasm in learning theoretical knowledge of operation and in comprehensively mastering job skills were promoted, which laid a solid foundation for enhancing the high-quality development of Taiyuan Kangjin Water Co., Ltd. and provided an important guarantee for the new glory of Taiyuan drainage industry.
