With a total area of approximately 1,380 mu, the Ecological Restoration Project for the Wetland in the Sanjiang Plain is one of the most important sub-projects of the PPP (public-private partnership) project (phase I) for the ecological protection and comprehensive governance of the Fu River basin. About RMB 320 million in total has been invested to construct the wetland, tourist center, roads, bridges, cycle tracks, greenbelts, squares, revetments, and landscape supporting facilities.
Since the construction was initiated, the project department has always been following the tenet of "precise management and quality first". By virtue of the concerted efforts of all construction personnel over the past two years, the project now has entered the closeout phase. Currently, the road pavement, greenbelt plantation, and closing construction are in full swing at the construction site. It is estimated that by the end of 2020, the project will be completed and enter the stage of completion acceptance.
As significant ecological engineering for "revivifying the clear Fu River", the project has transformed the resource superiority of Fuzhou into an industrial strength to catalyze the ecotourism economy, whereby it is deemed to be the demonstration project of the intensive achievement exhibition of the comprehensive governance project (phase I) of the Fu River basin.
As the project is completed, it will shoulder the responsibilities for treating the urban tail water and sewage in the Fu River basin and effectively resettling residents of villages and shanty towns under the threat of floods. Therefore, it is also a livelihood project to promote local re-employment. Moreover, it will connect the Menghu Scenic Area with aquatic tourism routes around the Fu River, and strive to upgrade itself to a national 5A wetland park with the Menghu Scenic Area. Kangda Intl. Environmental Co., Ltd. (Kangda EP) as the project contractor has been abiding by the corporate policy of "contributing to society with water-oriented principles" to make greater contributions to the ecological environment construction of the wetland in the Sanjiang Plain.
